The Fingerprint Unlock feature is the latest on WhatsApp for Android right now, whereas there has been other features WhatsApp will soon roll out to all WhatsApp users like the Self-destructing feature i talked about earlier. We are not here for that so lets get back to business.
This feature was announced back in January 2019 by WhatsApp Inc. and it started rolling out to iOS users on February 2019. And to the Android users, it first got to its beta testers before the official roll out to all android users which is going on now.
So if you are an android user, that has been dying to get this feature, the wait is over. The Fingerprint unlock feature on WhatsApp adds an extra security layer to your WhatsApp which is capable of stopping snoopers from viewing your chats and WhatsApp status updates.
Which i probably think its a great thing, so lets move on to how you can enable the feature on your Android device.
How To Enable the Fingerprint Unlock Feature
Bruh before we get started with the steps, update your WhatsApp to the latest version on Playstore. After updating it, follow the steps below:
- Firstly, go to SETTINGS on the three dot dropdown at the top right corner of your WhatsApp interface.
- Then click on ACCOUNTS > PRIVACY > FINGERPRINT LOCK
- Enable UNLOCK WITH FINGERPRINT toggle and confirm your fingerprint by placing your finger on the fingerprint sensor.
- Select how WhatsApp will lock (Immediately, After 1 minute OR After 30 minutes)
Your WhatsApp Fingerprint Unlock feature has been enabled, reopen your WhatsApp to check out the feature. That will be all, see you on my next post, peace!
